Run a manual (instant) backup
Use Manual / Instant Backup when you need a snapshot right now — before a theme change, plugin update, migration test, or host move. Scheduled backups run on a timer; manual backups run once on demand.

Prerequisites
- Active backup plan (trial, Essential, or Pro).
- API key connected on MigraSync → General.
- Master Vault Key saved on MigraSync → WP Backup — download the Recovery Sheet and store the key safely.
Encrypted cloud backups cannot be restored without the same vault key.
Steps
- Open MigraSync → WP Backup.
- Choose Manual / Instant Backup — “Run a one-time full backup now.”
- Confirm your Master Vault Key (generate or paste, then save).
- Select scope: Database, Media, Plugins, Themes.
- Set Auto purge policy retention for this backup (how long MigraSync keeps it).
- Review destination — MigraSync Managed Cloud (AES-256 encrypted).
- Accept the data processing agreement if prompted.
- Click Start full backup.
While it runs
- Progress appears in the wizard.
- You may close the tab — the job continues on the server. Track it under Recent Backup Jobs.
- When complete, choose View recent jobs to confirm status Completed.
