1. Introduction
This Cookie Policy explains how MigraSync (“we”, “us”, “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on migrasync.com and related MigraSync marketing and account pages.
It should be read together with our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
MigraSync (https://migrasync.com) is operated by Elliyas Ahmed, an individual based in Bangladesh. MigraSync is a software product brand; there is no separate registered company entity for MigraSync at this time.
Questions: [email protected] (subject line: Cookie request).
2. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, and pixels or scripts that store or read identifiers in your browser.
Cookies can be:
| Type | Meaning |
| First-party | Set by migrasync.com |
| Third-party | Set by another domain (for example Google Analytics or Freemius checkout) |
| Session | Deleted when you close your browser (or shortly after) |
| Persistent | Kept for a defined period (for example months) |
3. Scope — what this policy covers
This policy covers cookies on MigraSync’s own website (migrasync.com), including login, registration, dashboard, pricing, and checkout pages we host.
It does not govern cookies that your WordPress (or Blogger) site sets for your visitors. The MigraSync Plugin runs on your server and is not used to place MigraSync marketing or analytics cookies on your public site for our advertising.
When you pay via Freemius (our Merchant of Record), Freemius may set its own cookies on Freemius-controlled domains during checkout. See the Freemius Privacy Policy.
4. How we obtain consent
We show a cookie banner on migrasync.com with two categories:
- Essential — always on (required for security, login, and remembering your cookie choice)
- Analytics — optional (Google Analytics), only after you choose Accept all or enable Analytics in Settings and save
If you dismiss the banner without accepting analytics (or save with analytics off), we treat analytics as rejected for that browser until you change your choice or clear cookies.
We store your choice in a first-party cookie named msw_cookie_consent (see §6).
5. Cookie categories
| Category | Purpose | Required? | Legal basis (where GDPR applies) |
| Essential | Keep you signed in, protect forms (nonces/CSRF), remember cookie preferences, operate core account features | Yes | Legitimate interests / contract (provide a secure site and account) |
| Analytics | Understand aggregated traffic and page usage on migrasync.com via Google Analytics 4 | No | Consent |
We do not use advertising or retargeting cookies on migrasync.com to build third-party ad audiences.
6. Cookies and similar technologies we use
6.1 Essential (MigraSync / WordPress)
| Name / pattern | Provider | Purpose | Typical duration |
msw_cookie_consent | MigraSync | Stores your cookie category choice (essential + analytics flag) | Up to 12 months |
wordpress_logged_in_* | WordPress / MigraSync | Keeps you logged in to the customer dashboard | Session or per WordPress settings |
wordpress_sec_* | WordPress / MigraSync | Secure authentication for logged-in sessions | Session or per WordPress settings |
wordpress_test_cookie | WordPress | Checks that the browser accepts cookies | Session |
wp-settings-* / wp-settings-time-* | WordPress | Optional UI preferences for logged-in users | Up to 1 year |
| Security / form nonces | WordPress / MigraSync | Protect login, settings, and form submissions | Short-lived (request/session) |
Exact WordPress cookie names may vary with site configuration and login state.
6.2 Similar storage (essential)
| Name | Storage | Purpose | Duration |
msw_cc_session_ok | Browser session storage | Marks that the consent banner was handled for the current browser session (fallback when a consent cookie is not yet set) | Until the browser tab/session ends |
6.3 Analytics (optional — Google Analytics 4)
These are set only if you consent to analytics:
| Name / pattern | Provider | Purpose | Typical duration |
_ga | Distinguishes unique users (pseudonymous) | Up to 2 years (Google default; may vary with GA config)
_ga_* | Persists GA4 session/state for the property | Up to 2 years (Google default; may vary)
_gid | Distinguishes users (shorter-lived) | About 24 hours (if used) |
Google may process page views, referrer/campaign data, device/browser signals, and IP address under Google’s terms. We use GA to improve content and navigation — not to sell your data or serve third-party ads from MigraSync.
More detail: Privacy Policy, Google Analytics Terms, and How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
6.4 Third-party checkout (Freemius)
When you start a purchase, Freemius checkout may set cookies or similar technologies on Freemius domains to process payment, prevent fraud, and complete the order. Those technologies are controlled by Freemius, not by MigraSync’s cookie banner categories.
7. What we do not do with cookies
On migrasync.com we do not:
- Sell personal data collected via cookies
- Use optional analytics cookies without consent (where consent is required)
- Place MigraSync advertising cookies on your WordPress site through the MigraSync Plugin for our own marketing
- Use migrated or backed-up site content to build advertising profiles
8. How to manage or withdraw consent
You can:
- Use our banner settings — open Settings on the cookie banner (when shown), turn Analytics off, and choose Save choices.
- Clear site cookies — remove cookies for migrasync.com in your browser; the banner will appear again on a later visit.
- Browser controls — block or delete cookies in your browser settings (blocking all cookies may break login and checkout).
- Google Analytics opt-out — install Google’s browser add-on in addition to rejecting analytics on our site.
Withdrawing analytics consent does not affect essential cookies needed for security and account access.
9. International visitors
If you access migrasync.com from the EEA, UK, or other regions with cookie/ePrivacy rules, we rely on consent for non-essential analytics cookies and provide this notice so you can make an informed choice.
10. Updates
We may update this Cookie Policy when our cookies, tools, or legal requirements change. The Last updated date at the top will change when we publish revisions. Material changes may also be reflected in the Privacy Policy or site notice.
