Blogger OAuth / Google sign-in issues

Share:

The Google Blogger API path uses OAuth through MigraSync SaaS. Sign-in happens in a popup or new tab — not by sharing your Google password with WordPress.

Popup blocked

  1. Allow popups for your WordPress admin domain and migrasync.com.
  2. Retry Connect Blogger account on MigraSync → Blogger Migration.
  3. Try a different browser or disable ad-blockers temporarily.

Wrong Google account

  • You must sign in with the account that owns or manages the Blogger blog.
  • If Google shows the wrong account, sign out of Google in another tab, then retry.
  • Use an incognito window to pick the correct account.

Blog not listed after sign-in

CauseFix
Blog is on a different Google accountSwitch account and re-authorize
Permissions not grantedComplete the Google consent screen; allow Blogger access
Very new blogWait a few minutes and refresh the blog list
Large / complex siteConsider Google Takeout instead

Compare methods: Takeout vs Blogger API.

OAuth token expired mid-migration

If a long migration pauses with auth errors:

  1. Return to MigraSync → Blogger Migration.
  2. Re-connect Google and select the same blog.
  3. Check Recent Migration Jobs for Resume if a job is pending.

Revoke access after migration (optional)

After a successful import, you can remove MigraSync access in your Google Account → Security → Third-party access. Future API migrations would need re-authorization.
