API key and connection errors

Share:

If MigraSync → General shows Connection: Inactive or Connection: Inactive / Invalid, the plugin cannot sync plans, quotas, or run cloud jobs. Work through the checks below before opening a support ticket.

Quick checklist

  1. Copy the key from My Dashboard → API Key — not from an old email or screenshot.
  2. In WordPress: MigraSync → General → paste → Save & validate.
  3. Confirm you have an active migration package or backup subscription (or trial).
  4. Check System Status — if MigraSync SaaS is down, wait and retry.

Server connectivity

The plugin needs outbound HTTPS from your WordPress server to migrasync.com. Security plugins, WAF rules, or corporate proxies sometimes block this. Temporarily disable aggressive firewall plugins and retry Save & validate.

If your host provides SSH, ask them to confirm the server can reach https://migrasync.com without certificate errors.

After rotating your key

Regenerating invalidates the old key immediately. Update every WordPress site using MigraSync. Finish running jobs first — see regenerate API key.

Still stuck?

  1. System requirements — PHP 8.1+, WordPress 6.2+, OpenSSL, JSON
  2. Connect API key — setup walkthrough
  3. Help Center — include your site URL and a screenshot of MigraSync → General
