Regenerate or rotate your API key

Rotating your key invalidates the old one immediately. Use it when a key may be exposed, a teammate leaves, or you want a clean connection.

When to rotate

• Key shared in chat, email, or a screenshot
• Former contractor had dashboard access
• You suspect unauthorized site connections

Steps

1. Finish any running migration or backup jobs first.
2. Open My Dashboard → API Key.
3. Choose Regenerate / rotate and confirm.
4. Copy the new key.
5. On every WordPress site that used the old key: MigraSync → General → paste → Save / Connect.

Important

• Sites still using the old key will show connection failures until updated.
• One account key can power multiple sites under your plan; all of them must get the new key after rotation.
• Never publish the key in public support tickets.
